Quick Update

It has been a while since I posted anything so I will give a quick update. Quinton had a doctor's appointment on Dec. 12 to get the rest of his 4 months shots (we are splitting them up). He weighed 15 lbs & 8 oz!! He ans his cousin Callie went to get their pictures made with Santa that night. Quinton was really tired and a little fussy, but we managed to get some cute pictures. He ran a little bit of a fever until that Saturday night, but was a real trooper through it all. He is continuing to amaze us every day with the new things he is doing. He had green beans for the first time this last week and loved them!! He is also beginning to sit up some on his own and he has fully mastered the art of rolling from his back to his tummy. He loves to explore people's faces with his hands, and he is babbling regularly now. he has an opinion and likes to be heard! He is discovering his toys and how they work, and has a blast playing on the floor with them. He also has discovered that he loves puppy dogs! His grandpa got his baby bed finished and it is now set up in his room. his bed used to be his daddy's baby bed and grandpa sanded it, refinished it, and put it together for him.

Quinton's new trick

Well Quinton has a new trick. He can now roll over!! He did it for the first time yesterday at the sitter's. She got pictures of him on his tummy after the fact. Try as we might, we couldn't get him to repeat the trick last night. He got close, and we got the attempt on video, but he never got alll the way over. Today, he rolled over again while taking a nap at the sitter's. I am beginning to think he will only roll over for her!! We can't wait to see him roll over with our own eyes!! Next thing you know he will be crawling. He is growing up way to fast for his mommy!!

Quinton's 4 month check up

Quinton had his 4 month check up today at the doctor's. He was up to 14 lbs. 11 0z which puts him in the 50% for his age. However, he was 26 3/4 inches long. That is the 95% for his age!! We have a feeling he is going to be a very tall boy. The doctor said today we can start him on rice cereal. Maybe that will help him sleep through the night better. I guess we will see. He took his rotovirus vaccine today with no problems, and he didn't even whimper when they gave him his DTap shot!! Yeah!!! He is such a trooper.

Quinton ready for the Halloween party with Mrs. Christy & Brayden

Quinton dressed up as a UPS driver (complete with truck) and went "trick-or-treating" at his grandparents' and great-grandparents' houses. He had a long night, but got to see everyone including his cousins, Olivia & Callie. Quinton also went to his 1st Halloween party with Mrs. Christy (his sitter) and her son, Brayden.

Quinton Update

We took Quinton to the doctor yesterday because he was showing all the classic symptoms of an ear infection!! He hadn't been eating real well since Saturday afternoon and was going back and forth between sleeping a lot and not sleeping at all. To top it all off, he would let out these blood-curdling screams that seemed to go on forever. On the plus side--no ear infection!!!! On the downside, the doctor said it looks like his teeth are moving around under his gums!! She said they don't seem to be ready to push through yet, they are just moving enough to cause him periodic bouts of pain. I feel so bad for him because there isn't a whole lot I can do to make it better. I gave him Tylenol, a cold washcloth to chew on and we put his teething rings in the fridge to get them cold so he can chew on them as well. Other than that, we just have to wait it out. He is so pitiful when he doesn't feel good (typical male reaction I guess). His sad little face breaks my heart though. We'll keep everyone posted on how this goes. If he is in this much pain now and reacting like this, I hate to see how he reacts when the teeth actually start pushing through!!

Fireproof

Gabe and I went and saw the movie Fireproof starring Kirk Cameron tonight while Quinton stayed with Grandma and Grandpa Guess for about 2 1/2 hours. The movie was great!! It had a really great message and was pretty funny. The theatre was totally packed. Apparently North Richland Hills Baptist Church had bought a TON of tickets. Everyone was very well behaved though. Much better than the normal movie crowd. Quinton did okay as well. He played with his Grandma and took a nap with his Grandpa. He wasn't even crying when we got back!!! He had big smiles for us though!

Pumpkin Patch

On Saturday, Quinton went with his cousin Olivia to his first pumpkin patch in Arlington. He wasn't really sure whether he liked it or not. Mommy had a blast taking pictures of him though!

I also can't believe that my baby is already 3 months old!! Where has the time gone? He is getting so much more active. He talks all the time now, and has really started playing with his toys. We even had to take the little incline out of his bathtub because he was too big for it! He is such a good baby and so adorable!!
